(A distinctive educational institution integrating Arabic and Bengali education)
This madrasa was established with the objective of moving beyond the conventional madrasa education system and introducing a modern, time-appropriate curriculum that integrates both Bengali and Arabic education. The overall responsibility of the institution is carried out by Mr. Abdul Matin, B.Sc., Vice President of Alokayon. The madrasa is managed with 100% transparency by a competent, dedicated, and selfless teacher educated in the Bengali medium, who works tirelessly—day and night—investing his intellect, finances, and continuous effort to develop this madrasa into a unique and exemplary educational institution.
The Director does not accept any honorarium or remuneration from the madrasa. Instead, he donates a portion of his monthly pension to support the institution and personally bears the expenses of hosting visitors and guests. The madrasa provides free or low-cost education to helpless, destitute, extremely poor, and orphaned children, while giving equal importance to Bengali, English, and Mathematics alongside Arabic education. A distinctive feature of the institution is that classroom lessons are completed within class time, with only limited homework assigned; as a result, students do not require coaching centers or private tutors.
In addition to Qur’an memorization (Hifz), academic instruction is provided up to Ebtedayee (Grade 6). After completing both Hifz and Grade 6, students are eligible to enroll in Grade 7 at any school or madrasa. A modern and practical syllabus has been developed by the Director, who also conducts daily counseling sessions for teachers and regularly monitors students’ academic progress. Currently, approximately 100 students are enrolled in the institution, nearly 80% of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. At present, 31 students are memorizing the Qur’an, including 12 girls and 16 boys, and within the past year one female and one male student have successfully completed Hifz.
Alongside free education, underprivileged students receive books, notebooks, pens, and two meals per day, a facility recently arranged under the direct supervision of the Director. Observing the institution’s efficient management, quality of education, balanced emphasis on Arabic and Bengali studies, and above all its 100% transparency and accountability, Alokayon has extended financial and advisory support to this madrasa. Let us become proud partners of this educational institution through zakat and donations and pave the way for success in both this world and the Hereafter.
